Communication Module - Fiber-Ethernet module
The optional Fiber-Ethernet Communication Module provides advanced meters with reliable fibre-optic connectivity, converting the meter’s onboard Ethernet connection to a fibre-optic interface. Designed for use with the PowerLogic Advanced Metering range, including the ION7400, PM8000 and ION9000, the module provides an additional communication interface and enables electrically isolated data transmission over distances of up to 2,000 metres. The module supports multimode 100BASE-FX fibre-optic technology and uses an SC duplex connector. Fibre-optic communication provides a reliable and electrically isolated connection, making the module particularly suitable for applications where long-distance or isolated data transmission is required. Power is supplied directly from the base meter, while connection to the meter is made via the option bus. An Ethernet patch cable is included with the module for connection to the base meter.
