Communication Module - RS-485 4- wire module
The optional 4-Wire RS-485 Communication Module provides PowerLogic Advanced Meters with an additional 4-wire RS-485 serial connection, making it an ideal solution for replacing or retrofitting legacy 4-wire communication systems. Designed for use with the PowerLogic ION7400, PM8000 and ION9000, the module converts the meter's existing onboard 2-wire RS-485 interface into a 4-wire RS-485 connection, providing greater flexibility when integrating the meter into existing serial communication networks. The module is powered directly from the base meter and connects through the meter's option bus. It features a pluggable screw-terminal connector, providing a secure and convenient method of connecting to the RS-485 network. Once installed, the module uses the meter's serial communication interface, and the onboard 2-wire RS-485 port is disabled. Each compatible meter supports one 4-Wire RS-485 Module, while the option bus can accommodate up to three additional compatible option modules.
