Comemso Easy Chester Extended Package
The Easy Chester Extended package is used exclusively for function testing of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS) including the very latest 800V charging systems.
The Easy Chester Extended offers the Field Service / Maintenance Technician the ability to safely test the function, communication and safety aspects of the commercial AC & DC fast charging stations. The Easy Chester Extended can effectively simulate two different EV's at the commercial charging station one with a CCS type 2 connection and the other a CHAdeMO connection. It can also test high power AC charging stations with type 2 connector.
It offers an independent test and service function to cover both DC fast chargers used at commercial EV fuelling stations, convenience stores, public carparks or service areas. Along with a test & service function for companies with large EV fleets that may be using high-power AC charging stations. The Easy Chester Extended fully simulates the communication of an electric Vehicle with the charging station against the relevant charging standards such as DIN 70121, ISO 15118 and IEC 61851-1. Additionally, it also tests against CHAdeMO protocols.
The Easy Chester Extended is a fully functional charger station tester with EV simulation, DC source and load. With the Easy Chester you don’t need to connect a vehicle to the ‘Charging Station’ to test it! The test time is extremely short the Easy Chester will show within 90 seconds whether a charging station is working, correctly without the need for specific knowledge of the control standards for such chargers and their communication protocol requirements. The Easy Chester simulates a standardized test vehicle behaviour in line with manufacturing standards including all communication protocols as opposed to the individual behaviours of various vehicle types and brands. It then shows a pass/fail condition against the required standard live on its touch screen display and then saves this information to the Easy Chesters memory. This can then be downloaded at a later stage via software to quickly produce meaningful PDF test reports.
Key Standards Include.
DIN 70121 is a German technical specification that defines the digital communication between electric vehicles (EVs) and DC charging stations for DC charging. It primarily focuses on the initial connection and authentication process in the Combined Charging System (CCS). Specifically, it outlines the communication protocol and application requirements for DC charging between EVs and charging stations.
ISO 15118 is an international standard for communication between electric vehicles (EVs) and charging stations, enabling secure and efficient charging and bidirectional energy transfer. It facilitates smart charging, which optimizes energy delivery based on grid conditions, and Plug and Charge, a feature that automates authentication and charging initiation
IEC 61851-1 is an international standard that specifies the general requirements for electric vehicle conductive charging systems. It covers aspects like the characteristics and operating conditions of EV supply equipment, the connection between the equipment and the vehicle, and electrical safety requirements.
