The GW Instek GPT-15003 offers 4 test functions including AC/DC Withstand Voltage Tester which provides a test voltage of up to 5kV AC with an output capacity of 500VA or a 6kV DC test with an output capacity of 50W. An Insulation Resistance Test across 7 measurement ranges at up to 1200V DC with insulation resistance measurement up to 50GΩ. It also performs a Ground Continuity Test with a test current of 100mA

What we like: The GPT-15000 series have extended the VA range of the GPT-12000 to 500VA. Along with the GPT-12000 Series these are the first safety analyzer in the world to comply with IEC 61010-2-034 (Safety requirement for electrical requirement for measurement, control and laboratory use – particular requirements for measurement equipment for insulation resistance and test equipment for electric strength), which stipulates that the requirements of the software and hardware interfaces must be followed while designing high voltage and insulation resistance test and measurement instruments so as to ensure that users are provided with necessary protection and warning while using the instruments. To make tests more compliant with the relevant safety standards the GPT-15003 offers greater flexibility in the output sequence from the test start point to the end of the test cycle. The user can set the ‘Ramp Up’, ‘Test Duration’ and ‘Ramp Down’ time for the AC/DC Withstand Voltage Test and Insulation Resistance Test. A sweep mode function also allows the user to create a graph of all 3 tests.

To help make tests more compliant with your relevant safety standards the GPT-15003 offers greater flexibility in the output sequence from the test start point to the end of the test cycle.
The user can set the ‘Ramp Up’, ‘Test Duration’ and ‘Ramp Down’ time for the AC/DC Withstand Voltage Test and the Insulation Resistance Test.
A sweep mode function allows the user to create a graph of the AC/DC Withstand Voltage Test and the Insulation Resistance Test.
ARC detection, detects fast voltage or current transients that are not normally detected.
Each manual (MANU) test the user sets up can be stored/recalled to/from one of 100 memory locations.
Automatic (AUTO) tests allow you to link together up to 10 different MANU tests and run them sequentially.
With the use a PWM switched power supply precise test voltage can be set without having to rely on the unit’s mains power voltage supply.
The rear output terminals and indicator provide for safe and convenient for system integration.
Start/Stop functions can be controlled remotely via the ‘Remote Terminal’ located on the front of the unit.
The rear Signal I/O port can be used for pass/fail/test monitoring and the start/stop control/interlock.
Integral over temperature, voltage and current protection protect the product to support long term use.
Pass, Fail, Test, High Voltage and Ready indicators are all displayed on the 7-inch colour TFT LCD Display.
Interlock function is a safety feature that is configurable by the user if it is set and the Interlock is left open the INTERLOCK OPEN will be displayed and the test will not start.
Interface connections include remote terminal & USB A-Type for data storage at the front of the unit and RS-232C, USB B-Type port for remote control plus signal I/O to the rear. (GPIB is available as an option)

With the GW Instek GPT-15000 Series you can chose from 4 models which tester in the range best suites your complete test requirements whether that is just the AC Withstand Voltage Tester, AC/DC Withstand Voltage Tester, AC/DC Withstand Voltage Tester with Insulation Resistance Test or AC/DC Withstand Voltage Tester with Insulation Resistance Test and Ground Bond Test.

The GW Instek GPT-15003 AC Withstand Voltage Tester is designed for the testing of electrical devices and components according to various safety standards. It provides for ‘Withstand Voltage’ tests of up to 5kV AC with an output capacity of 500VA or 6kV DC with an output capacity of 50W. The Test voltage can be set between 50V to 5kV AC or 6kV DC and can be adjusted in 1V steps. The Insulation Resistance Test can be set between 50V to 1200V DC in 50V steps with Insulation Resistance measurements up to 50GΩ.

The Large 7-inch colour TFT LCD Display clearly shows the applied voltage, test parameters, test conditions, measurement value and test results all on the screen at the same time. The real-time status update on the LCD display accompanied by the multi-coloured LED status indicators on the front panel allow operators to have full visual control of the test process. The HIGH VOLTAGE indicator will light up red when an output terminal is active. Only after the test has finished or stopped will this warning indicator turn off. The test function selection keys arranged to the left of the LCD display provide convenient operation so that test functions can easily be changed with a single action. The keys indicate up to 5 test functions available depending on the GPT-15000 model these include ACW, DCW, IR, GB and CONT. Pressing one of the keys enters the function settings.

The GPT-15000 Series offers a sweep mode function, which creates a graph of one of the ACW, DCW, IR, GB or CONT tests. The graph will plot the output voltage, current or resistance versus time. After the test has been completed, the test current, voltage or resistance at any point in time can be fetched and viewed in the graph.

The GW Instek GPT-15000 Series allows you to store up to 100 user defined manual (MANU) tests in up to 100 memory locations. The automatic (AUTO) test then allows you to link together up to 10 different MANU tests and run them sequentially in your own automatic test sequence.
